June 14, 2011 - Glen Burnie, Md. - Police are investigating what caused a pickup truck to crash into 2 cars, including a police vehicle, that were pulled over on the side of the road during a traffic stop. According to a report at ABC 2 News, the crash injured 3 people.
Police say the crash occurred around 11 p.m. on Friday when deputies of Anne Arundel County Police had pulled over another vehicle onto the shoulder of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. Two deputies approached the vehicle and asked the occupants to step outside of the car. Several people exited the vehicle and stood on the shoulder of the road.
At that time, a GMC pickup truck crashed into the police vehicle, pushing it into the group standing on the shoulder. One person, who hasn't been identified, took the brunt of the crash and suffered serious personal injuries. He or she is currently in critical condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Hospital.
A police officer and the driver of the pickup truck, a 32-year-old man, suffered minor injuries. They were transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
