January 10, 2012 – Anne Arundel, Md. – A tanker truck and a second vehicle were involved in a collision that blocked Route 2 early in the morning on Monday, January 9.
WBALTV indicates that the accident happened at about 9:15 a.m. on Route 2 near Solomon’sIsland Road, in Harwood. According to officials on the scene, a truck and a tanker crashed into each other on the road. The tanker flipped, causing a possible fuel leak.
So far no injuries have been reported in connection with this accident. Full details of the accident remain to be released.
Route 2 was blocked to traffic in the area of the accident for several hours after the accident while crews worked to clean the remains of the accident. All lanes had been reopened around 2 p.m.
The cause of the accident currently remains unknown. The accident is under the stages of investigation by Anne Arundel County officials.
