December 9, 2011 – Baltimore Highlands, Md. – A teenage girl was killed on Thursday, December 8, when she was struck by an SUV.
An accident report that was published in The Baltimore Sun indicates the accident happened at around 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Annapolis Road and Ohio Avenue. The girl, 16, was walking along or across the road when she was hit by a small SUV.
The girl was rushed to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center immediately following the accident. She was later confirmed dead in the hospital.
The driver was not hurt in the accident.
The names of the teenage girl and the driver that hit her have not been released.
The driver remained at the scene until emergency officials arrived. Whether or not the driver was charged is unknown.
The accident continues to be in the stages of investigation by local officials.
