August 4, 2011 - Brooklyn Park, Md. - Anne Arundel County Police are still searching for the driver who killed a bicyclist in a hit and run accident in July. According to a report at the Baltimore Sun, police have more information on the driver's description, in addition to photos of the vehicle involved.
The original accident occurred around 8 a.m. on the morning of July 14. The bicyclist was riding across Ritchie Highway when he was struck and killed by a dark SUV that was driving northbound. The driver fled the scene without stopping, and the vehicle was later photographed by a security camera in a nearby parking lot.
The photos released by police show a dark SUV, possibly dark red or maroon, in an empty parking lot in the 5800 block. The make and model can't be determined from the photo, but the vehicle probably sustained damage to the front passenger's side.
Witnesses identified the suspect as a black female approximately 30 to 40 years of age. She was wearing medical scrubs, so police believe she may work at a hospital or doctor's office.
