July 11, 2011 - Baltimore, Md. - Police are still investigating the fatal hit and run accident that killed 2 young girls in Baltimore last month. According to a report at ABC 2 News, police have released 911 tapes that shed new light on potential suspects who may have played a role in this deadly accident.
On June 13, 2 teenage girls were crossing Martin Luther King Boulevard in Baltimore when they were mowed down by a car that then fled the scene. The 911 tapes indicate that both girls were killed instantly and couldn't be revived by paramedics. The victims' families held a vigil at the location shortly after the accident, during which they pleaded with police to solve their daughters' deaths.
Investigators on the 911 tapes also indicate that they were looking for a burgundy vehicle that was stopped by officers near Baltimore Washington International Airport. The car had sustained severe damage to its front end and was registered to a 27-year-old woman in Severn; however, no arrests have been made so far in this case.
