September 9, 2011 - Baltimore, Md. - A Baltimore County police officer was injured Thursday, September 1, when his cruiser was hit from behind by another vehicle. WBALTV reports that the accident happened just before 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Honeygo Boulevard and White Marsh Boulevard.
Exact details as to how this rear-end crash occurred are not yet available but the officer was injured in the accident and had to be transported to Bayview Medical Center for examination. The extent of the his or her injuries is unknown.
The driver of the other vehicle involved wasn't reported injured in the accident. No identities have been named yet in relation to the accident.
Police said that there were several officers in the area when the accident occurred. Police have been directing traffic in that area since many traffic lights are out due to ongoing power troubles from Hurricane Irene.
There is no word on whether or not charges will be filed.
