Parole Pickup Truck Crash Sends Woman to Shock Trauma Unit, Snarls Traffic

April 8, 2011 - Parole, MD - A 25-year-old woman had to be freed from the wreckage of a March 31 Parole pickup truck crash after the driver ran the vehicle off the road and slammed into a tree. 

According to an article from hometownannapolis.com, it took approximately 10 minutes for firefighters to free the woman, who was not named, from the pickup. From there, she was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries.

Even though the accident occurred just before 6:30 a.m., the Parole pickup truck crash snarled traffic for morning commuters along Route 50 and Interstate 97. While the wreckage was cleared before 8 a.m., traffic backed up for approximately 3 miles and was jammed for nearly an hour after crews were finished clearing the scene.

The pickup truck's driver appeared to have minor injuries but refused treatment.The article did not specify what may have caused the driver, a man in his 40s, to veer off the roadway and into the tree.

Single car accidents are quite common in Maryland.
