December 2, 2011 – Pasadena, Md. – A man was killed when 3 vehicles collided into each other on Monday, November 26.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the accident happened shortly after 7 p.m. on Route 100, near Quarterfield Road. A BMW was driving aggressively and cut off several cars when it merged onto the highway.
According to police, the BMW first crashed into a pick-up truck then rear-ended a Nissan. The Nissan was sent off of the roadway, veered back into traffic and then flipped over. The Nissan crashed to a stop in one of the lanes.
The Nissan’s driver, John Frederick Cornelius, 66, of Fort Washington, was killed in the accident. He was first transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the BMW, Zachary Adam Covington, 25, of Springfield, Va., wasn’t injured in the accident. The pick-up truck’s driver was also uninjured.
No charges have been filed in connection with this accident. The accident continues to be investigated by local authorities.
