May 10, 2011 - Rosedale, Md. - Numerous people suffered personal injuries on Sunday when a passenger vehicle crashed into a Maryland Transit Administration bus in suburban Rosedale.
According to a report at WBAL Baltimore, the MTA crash occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Police say the MTA bus was stopping to unload passengers on Philadelphia Road when it was rear-ended by a red Kia near the intersection with Golden Ring Road.
Video from the scene shows a red four-door Kia with severe front-end damage and its bumper knocked onto the pavement. Police have not said what caused the driver to plow into the back end of the bus.
The bus was carrying a full load of passengers at the time of the crash, and at least 12 people suffered personal injuries, including the driver of the Kia. Most of the victims were taken to Franklin Square Hospital with varying degrees of injuries.
Their conditions were not released, but authorities believe all of the victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The names and ages of those injured were also not disclosed, but police say the victims include a 3-year-old boy who hit his head during the crash. It was not immediately clear if the driver is facing any charges in connection with this bus accident.
