June 17, 2011 - Baltimore, Md. - A memorial service was held on Wednesday for 2 teenage girls who were killed in a hit and run accident in Baltimore on Monday. According to a report at WBAL Baltimore, numerous people, including friends and family, turned out for the service on the corner where the girls were struck and killed.
Mourners held candles and heard from the victims' mothers, who gave emotional pleas for police to apprehend the suspects who ended their daughters' lives. The victims, a 16-year-old girl and 17-year-old girl, were struck at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Pratt Street. They were pronounced dead shortly after the accident.
Police have yet to apprehend the driver who hit the girls and then fled the scene; however, they've released more information about a car that was pulled over near BWI Airport shortly after the accident. Investigators say the car was a Lincoln sedan that showed damage consistent with a serious car accident. A man and a woman were taken into custody, but they've since been released, and they haven't been identified. The investigation is ongoing.
