November 3, 2011 - Baltimore, Md. - A security personnel, for Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, was injured along with another motorist in an accident that happened on Monday, October 31.
A story on The Baltimore Sun indicates that the accident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on the Jones Falls Expressway, near the Guilford exit. The security officer was travelling in the lanes heading south on the expressway in an unmarked SUV at the time of the accident. A second vehicle then collided into the SUV on the roadway.
Both of the drivers were injured in the accident. They were transported to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center immediately following the accident. Both drivers are said to have suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Officials said that the mayor was not in the SUV at the time of the accident.
The cause of the accident remains to be determined as it is under the stages of investigation.
