Man’s Identity among Details Revealed in Fatal Baltimore Motorcycle Accident

April 9, 2011 - Baltimore, MD - More details are unfolding in regards to a fatal Baltimore motorcycle accident that occurred around 6:30 p.m. on April 4.

Fox 45 Baltimore has reported that the 23-year-old man killed, who originally remained unnamed in reports, has been identified as Anthony Slack-Valentino. Valentino was from Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and crashed along I-395 near where the highway meets I-95. According to the article, Valentino had just left the Oriole's home game opener when he lost control of the bike and crashed. Reports have not specified whether alcohol played a part in the crash.

While the Maryland Transportation Authority Police have now confirmed Valentino was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, they are still asking for witnesses to the fatal Baltimore motorcycle accident to call the collision reconstruction unit at 443-324-8894.

Helmet use in a motorcycle accident can often make the difference between life and death, but not always. For instance, according to 2009 numbers from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, approximately 35 motorcyclists' lives were saved in Maryland from helmet use.
