January 17, 2012 – Hampstead, Md. – A motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries in the afternoon on Sunday, January 15, when he crashed into a curb.
WBALTV reports that the accident happened just after 4 p.m. onTrenton Mill Road, near State Route 30. Officials with the Maryland State Police said that a motorcycle driven by 48-year-old Leonard Thomas Fazio, of Manchester, was travelling southbound on the roadway when Fazio lost control.
The motorcycle then veered into the opposite lanes of traffic before hitting a curb. Fazio was thrown from the motorcycle on impact. Fazio was fatally wounded in the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the accident and no other drivers, passengers, or pedestrians have been reported to have sustained injuries due to this accident.
It is not clear what caused Fazio to lose control of his vehicle. Maryland State Police are investigating.
