December 21, 2011 – Howard County, Md. – A single-vehicle accident left a man dead on Sunday, December 18.
WBALTV reports that the accident happened at approximately 12:43 a.m. at the intersection of Old Frederick Road and Weatherstone Drive. According toHowardCounty police, a 2011 Nissan 370Z was travelling eastbound on Old Frederick Road when its driver lost control near the intersection, causing the vehicle to drive off the right side. The Nissan then crashed into a tree and flipped.
The Nissan’s driver, identified as Jong Han Lee, 32, of Ellicott City, was partially ejected from the vehicle when it crashed. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said that Lee wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Police also said that Lee was travelling at a high rate of speed when he crashed and that speed may have been a factor. Howard County police are still investigating.
