October 4, 2011 - Hunt Valley, Md. - A man was killed and another was injured in a 2-vehicle car accident in Hunt Valley on Saturday, October 1.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the accident happened on Interstate 83 near Shawan Road. Henry Lee Cote, 81, of Reisterstown, was driving his pickup truck north on the highway when he attempted to pass another vehicle. Cote turned his vehicle back into his own lane too soon and ended up clipping the front end of the other vehicle.
Cote's pickup truck immediately overturned. Cote was ejected from the truck as it rolled. He was killed in the accident and pronounced dead at the scene. Police said that Cote was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The northbound lanes of Interstate 83 were blocked to traffic for some time following the crash. Officials had to divert traffic to alternate routes.
