November 7, 2011 - Howard County, Md. - A man sustained injuries after his car rammed right into a tree on Saturday night, October 29.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the accident happened at about 10 p.m. in the area of 10400 Little Patuxent Parkway. A 2002 Hyundai Sonata was driving eastbound on the roadway when its driver lost control and the vehicle slid off of the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The vehicle's driver, James Dennis Ellis, 72, of Columbia, was partially ejected from the vehicle when it crashed. He was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment. He was reported to be in stable condition as of Saturday night.
Officials said the Ellis was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Furthermore, wet roads and speeding most likely were primary factors for the cause of the crash. The accident is under ongoing investigation.
