June 3, 2011 - Anne Arundel County, Md. - An unidentified man was killed on Friday in a fiery truck accident outside of Annapolis. According to a report at the Baltimore Sun, the victim was driving in Anne Arundel County when he lost control of his pickup truck. The accident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday.
Police have not concluded their investigation, but they believe the victim was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck southbound on Solomans Island Road. Near the intersection with Harwood Road, the driver veered into oncoming traffic, where he lost control of the truck before crashing into a group of trees near Southern High School.
The truck burst into flames, trapping the driver and a dog inside the vehicle. Both the driver and the dog were already dead by the time first responders arrived on the scene. It is currently unknown if their fatal injuries resulted from the car accident or the fire.
Police are still investigating to determine what caused the driver to lose control of the pickup truck, but they said no other vehicles were involved in this car accident, and no additional injuries were reported.
