May 31, 2011 - Glen Burnie, Md. - Three people were injured on Sunday when a driver lost control of his car and crashed into a local restaurant in Glen Burnie. According to a report at the Baltimore Sun, there was more to the Glen Burnie crash than it originally appeared.
Police say a 39-year-old man from Aberdeen was driving a Dodge Magnum station wagon on Ritchie Highway when he lost control of the vehicle. Shortly after 10 p.m. on Sunday, the station wagon crashed into tables outside of Ann's Dari Crème and then hit a tree.
Police believe that the driver had been stabbed in a previous incident. Investigators later determined that this crash was related to a stabbing on Americana Circle earlier that night. The driver died shortly after the accident at Baltimore-Washington Hospital, likely due to a combination of injuries from the car crash and earlier stabbing.
Two pedestrians were struck in the parking lot of the restaurant, although neither victim was seriously injured. A 15-year-old girl who was sitting outside the restaurant suffered serious personal injuries, and she is receiving treatment at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She is currently in serious condition. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
