July 25, 2011 - Bel Air, Md. - At least one person was killed on Thursday in a serious head-on accident near Bel Air. According to a report at the Baltimore Sun, the car accident occurred shortly after 10 a.m.
Maryland State police were called to the scene near the Fountain Green Swim Club. Investigators say two occupants, in a 2010 Lexus, were riding on Route 543 when the vehicle was struck head-on by a 2002 Chrysler 300M, near Foxborough Drive.
The passenger of the Lexus, a 64-year-old woman from Bel Air, died at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler, a 65-year-old man from Bel Air, was transported by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
Two others were injured in the accident, including the driver of the Chrysler, a 27-year-old woman from Bel Air. She, along with a 23-year-old woman riding in her vehicle, was airlifted to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in serious condition.
Police are still investigating this accident, and they haven't yet determined who was at fault. No charges have been filed.
