November 21, 2011 - Frederick County, Md. - A man was killed and 3 more adults and an infant were injured when 3 vehicles collided on Saturday, November 19.
The Washington Post reports that the accident happened at about 3 p.m. on Route 194, near Crum Road. Officials said that a Pontiac was travelling northbound on the roadway when it drifted into the southbound lanes. The Pontiac then sideswiped a Chevrolet Impala before colliding head-on with a Ford Explorer.
The Pontiac's driver, Alan Wisner, 30, of Walkersville, was killed in the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford Explorer, Pamela J. Dronesburg, 55, and passenger, Kimberly J. Dronesburg, 19, both of Thurmont, were injured in the accident. Both people had to be airlifted to a shock trauma center. Their injuries were described as non-life threatening and in stable condition.
The driver of the Impala, John A. Early, 46, and an infant passenger, from Dronesburg's vehicle, were both transported to Meritus Medical Center. Both have since been treated and released.
The accident remains under investigation by Maryland State Police.
