July 19, 2011 - Brooklyn Park, Md. - According to a report at the Baltimore Sun, a cyclist who was injured in a Brooklyn Park hit and run accident last week, has died from his injuries.
Police say the victim was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Ritchie Highway when he was hit by a car shortly after 8 a.m. on Thursday. Witnesses were able to tell police that the driver was a woman who stopped briefly before driving off. They believe the car was a dark Hyundai sedan.
The victim, a man from Baltimore, was pronounced dead over the weekend at Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. According to reports, he wasn't wearing a bicycle helmet at the time of the accident.
Police are still searching for the driver who fled the scene. Investigators say the car sustained a great deal of damage to its right side, including a broken headlight, dented hood, and shattered windshield.
