July 5, 2011 - Baltimore, Md. - According to a report at WBAL Baltimore, 1 person was injured on Friday, shortly before 7:30 a.m., when a cement truck crashed on Interstate 695 in Baltimore.
Police say the cement truck was traveling on I-695 when the driver somehow lost control of the truck and rolled over onto the median. The accident took place near the exits for Merritt Boulevard and Chesaco Avenue. The entire Outer Loop of the Beltway was closed for several hours as authorities assisted the victim, towed the cement truck, and cleaned up dry cement that had spilled onto the freeway.
The driver of the truck hasn't been identified, but Maryland State Police say he or she suffered personal injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities haven't said what caused the truck to crash. For several hours, all of the drivers on the Outer Loop of I-695 were diverted onto the shoulder to get around the accident.
