August 11, 2011 - Bel Air, Md. - A man was killed Tuesday, August 9, when his motorcycle collided with an Oldsmobile.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the accident happened just after 11 a.m. on Route 1, in Bel Air. Kurt Mahlon Chenowith, 25, was travelling southbound, on his 2009 Kawasaki Ninja, when a 1990 Oldsmobile pulled into his path.
The Oldsmobile was attempting to make a left turn out of Bob Bell Chevrolet and into the northbound lane of traffic. Chenowith's motorcycle crashed into the side of the car.
Chenowith was killed in the accident. He died on the scene. The 2 occupants of the Oldsmobile were not injured in the accident.
Police said that Route 1 was blocked to traffic for about 2 hours following the accident as crews worked to clean up the scene. The accident is under ongoing investigation and is being handled by authorities in Bel Air.
