Baltimore Car and Scooter Collision Leaves 1 Dead and 1 Seriously Injured

August 9, 2011 - Baltimore County, Md. - A person was killed and another was injured Thursday, August 4, when a car and a scooter collided in Baltimore County.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the accident happened around midnight on Interstate 95, near the Baltimore Beltway interchange. A Honda Accord and the scooter crashed into one-another in the southbound lanes of the interstate.

Two people were riding on the scooter at the time of the accident. One of the riders was killed in the crash. The second person was left seriously injured and was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment. The driver of the Honda Accord was not injured in the crash and no further injuries have been reported.

The identities of those involved in the accident have not yet been released. As of Friday afternoon, investigators were still working on identifications.
