June 2, 2011 - Baltimore, Md. - Numerous people suffered personal injuries, on Wednesday afternoon, when a Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus crashed in southwest Baltimore. According to a report at WBAL Baltimore, police have yet to determine what caused this serious bus accident.
Details are still being released, but the accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Police say the MTA bus was carrying a dozen passengers when it crashed near the intersection of Chapel Gate Lane and Edmonson Avenue.
Investigators have not yet said what caused this crash. They do know that the bus collided with a passenger vehicle, although it isn't yet known who was at fault. Pictures from the scene show a light-colored sedan with serious front-end damage. The hood of the vehicle was crushed, and the windshield was destroyed.
As of Wednesday afternoon, police believe 13 people suffered personal injuries in the accident. At least 12 of those victims were on the bus at the time of the crash. The driver of the car was also ejected from the car sustaining serious injuries. The identities of the victims haven't been released, and their conditions are currently unknown.
