June 8, 2011 - Laurel, Md. - Maryland State Police are investigating a strange accident on Interstate 95 that left one fatally injured. According to a report at the Baltimore Sun, a car caught on fire on an exit ramp on Interstate 95. The fire was reported to police shortly before 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
Officers with the Maryland State Police responded to the scene on I-95 near Laurel. The unidentified vehicle was on fire on the exit ramp to westbound Route 198. The fire was out of control when police arrived, and it took several minutes for firefighters to extinguish the blaze. After the fire was put out, authorities discovered a body in the car. Authorities currently have no information on the victim's identity.
Police are still determining the cause of this car accident as it is not yet known if the car crashed first causing flames to the vehicle or if the car caught fire in some other manner.
